About

About help me AAC

Free, 24/7 help with the everyday technical side of augmentative and alternative communication — for any device, any app.

Why this exists

Families and professionals who support AAC users often run into small technical roadblocks at the worst possible moments: a button that won't save, an eye-gaze device that suddenly stops tracking, a menu they can't find at 9 p.m. when no support line is open. Manufacturer support is excellent but only available during business hours, and answers are scattered across dozens of manuals for dozens of systems. help me AAC was built to give clear, immediate, plain- language answers whenever they are needed.

What it does

  • Screenshot help: attach a photo of your device screen and get told exactly what to tap next, with numbered hotspots drawn on your own image.
  • Programming & customization: adding buttons, creating page links, editing layouts and vocabulary.
  • Settings & access methods: dwell time, scanning, switch access, eye-gaze calibration, and navigation.
  • Troubleshooting:tracking problems, connectivity, and the everyday "why won't this work" questions.

It works with any AAC system, with extra reference notes for the major ones — Tobii Dynavox, PRC-Saltillo, Smartbox, AssistiveWare, CoughDrop, and more. You can browse our written guides or ask a question directly in the chat.

Built for accessibility

Our audience disproportionately includes people with motor, visual, and cognitive disabilities, so accessibility is a core feature, not an afterthought. Answers are short and plain-language by default, with an optional detailed mode. Built-in text scaling, high-contrast mode, reduced-motion support, and read-aloud are available throughout.
