Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information help me AAC("we", "us") collects when you use myaachelper.com (the "Service"), how it is used, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it plain and honest. By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

The short version

  • We do not require an account, and we do not sell your data.
  • Your chat questions and any screenshots you attach are sent to our AI provider to generate answers, and are not used to build a profile of you.
  • Your settings and chat history are stored in your own browser, not on our servers.
  • We show ads through Google AdSense, which uses cookies. You can opt out of personalized ads (see below).

Information we process

Chat content you provide

When you send a message or attach a screenshot, that content is transmitted to our AI provider, Google (via the Gemini API), so it can generate a response. We ask that you do not include sensitive personal information or identifiable details about an AAC user in your messages or screenshots. Capturing screenshots from a clean demo profile, with no personal names or photos, is recommended.

Information stored in your browser

Your accessibility settings, saved device profile, and chat history are stored locally in your browser (using localStorage) so they persist between visits. This information stays on your device; we do not receive a copy. You can clear it at any time from within the app or by clearing your browser's site data.

Technical and usage information

Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, for security and to keep the Service running. We may keep aggregate, non-identifying logs of which AAC topics are common to improve our guides and screen library.

Cookies and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site and to serve ads.

  • Third-party advertising (Google AdSense). We use Google AdSense to display ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
  • For more on how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see Google's Privacy & Terms.

How your information is used

  • To generate answers to your AAC questions.
  • To remember your settings and history on your own device.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the Service.
  • To display advertising that helps keep the Service free.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers needed to run the Service — our hosting provider, our AI provider (Google Gemini), and our advertising provider (Google AdSense) — each of which processes data under its own privacy terms.

Children's privacy

AAC is often used by and for children, but the Service is intended to be operated by parents, caregivers, educators, and clinicians, not by children directly. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Please avoid entering a child's identifying information into the chat.

Your choices and rights

  • Clear your local settings and history from your browser at any time.
  • Opt out of personalized ads using the links above.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete personal data we hold. Contact us to make a request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
